White Castle’s robot could make french fries but it is not able to scan or stocking. According to WBBJ Jackson, Tennessee, the large robot arm utilizes artificial Intelligence to capture uncooked fries and drop them into oil for fry. To ensure that the fries are evenly distributed, the robot shakes them time. Employees are able to socialize more efficiently because they don’t need to be in contact with each other while cooking.
Miso Robotics was responsible in creating the machine. USA Today reports that Flippy will soon become the latest machine to make burgers for the chain.
White Castle issued a statement saying that autonomous frying could allow for increased production rates, increase labor allocation, and add protection to the cooking process.
White Castle claims that robots won’t replace workers. Food preparation robots allow humans to take on the other tasks including cleaning and delivering orders.
Flippy was also a popular option at another California hamburger restaurant (reports that it’s slow). Flippy was also seen in Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles in the year 2018 Flipping chicken nuggets and tater tots.
